"open sky sounds that owe as much to Brian Eno as to Dylan’s Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid soundtrack. Bruce Langhorne’s score to Peter Fonda’s The Hired Hand is another touchstone for the kind of twangy, ruminative and forward-looking sound Aux Meadows brews up. " - Jeff Conklin, Ambient Audiofile & The Trailhead (WVKR)
"These 11 gorgeously dusty instrumentals conjure up as many wide-open spaces as any echo-laden cosmic Americana group you might mention. How does the Oakland-based trio of Steve Dawson (dobro, lap steel), Joe Imwalle (synths, piano) and Chris Royalty (guitar, bass) do it? Some things are better left as secrets, but I suspect it has something to do with Aux Meadows’ meditative/collaborative approach, one in which no particular lead voice rises to the top, and in which a sort of easygoing mind-meld takes place, whether it’s on the desert noir drone of “No Cash On Premises” or the patient, no-particular-place-to-go lope of “Asleep In The Air.” This is the sound of musicians listening to one another, dreaming in real time." - Tyler Wilcox (Aquarium Drunkard)
